Eastshore Golden Retrievers at Fieldstone Farm
We take breeding and raising our Goldens very seriously. Our litters are planned far in advance and most often our puppies are booked well before they are born.
We are very fussy when it comes to choosing the right homes for our pups and we feel it is our responsibility to be this way.
Having said that, there is a process involved if you are interested in getting one of our pups.
When contacting us about a puppy please be prepared to fill out a puppy application. Once that application is sent back to us we will review it and if we feel that an Eastshore Golden may possibly be a good match for you, we will contact you to set up a time for an interview.
The interview process is important for us as well as for you. It enables us to get to know you better and see if one of our puppies would be right for you. It also gives you the chance to get to know us, meet our dogs and interview us. We understand you will have many questions for us as well!
Our puppies are raised in our home and stay with us until they are around 10 weeks of age.
Because we know our puppies best and evaluate them with a puppy aptitude test, we will select the puppy we feel will best suit the needs and requirements for you and your family. You may give us your preference, but in the end, through careful evaluation, we will choose which puppy we feel will be the best match for you.
The parents of our litters have hip, elbow, eye and heart clearances.
Our puppies are sold on AKC limited registrations. Occasionally we may have a puppy available to an approved show/performance home.
Just as important...
Our dogs (and puppies) live in our home with us. They are not kennel dogs.
Our dogs are fed an all natural diet, which comes in several different forms, such as raw, cooked, dehydrated or a combination of all three. Our dogs are minimally vaccinated, are not treated with flea and tick medications and are trained through positive training methods.
Our belief is that raising a puppy as naturally as possible is the best for the puppy and we believe that once one of our puppies leaves the "nest" that he/she should continue to be raised in a similar way.
When searching for the right puppy, it is very important to look for a pedigree that includes health and longevity. But equally as important is how that puppy/dog is raised throughout its entire life.
One of our jobs as breeders of Golden Retrievers is to educate our puppy families so that once you take your puppy home you can continue to raise it in a healthy and natural way.
Our expectations for our new puppy families include a family that will not only enjoy one of our puppies as a family member that lives in the house (not in a kennel or outside), but will also continue to feed an all natural diet, minimally vaccinate, avoid toxic medications (such as oral or topical flea and tick medications) and are trained through kind and positive training methods.
Because we are committed to our puppies for life, we offer lifetime breeder support. We stay in touch with each individual puppy family through e-mail and phone calls as well as through fun visits at our home for puppy get -togethers. It is important for us to know how these pups are growing and maturing and we encourage you to contact us whenever you have any questions.
